Platinum resistive temperature sensors for industrial and scientific use are fabricated in Tesla Blatna. The thin film sensors are made on alumina substrates. As compared to wire wound platinum resistive temperature sensors the performance of the thin film sensors is remarkably better as far as the dimensions, mechanical resistance and application possibilities are concerned. The sensors are designed for the temperature range of -200 °C up to 1000 °C. Temperature coefficient of resistance TCR is 3850 ppm/K and comply with the standard of ČSN EN 60 751. Basic nominal resistance value is 1000 Ω. TESLA Blatna is ready to produce tailor-made platinum temperature sensors of different dimensions and of different nominal resistance values.

Sensor platforms

TESLA Blatna fabricates different planar electrodes systems on alumina substrates as a base for gas and vapour sensing elements. Interdigital gold electrodes BI2 and platinum integrated electrode system comprising interdigital electrodes, heating element and temperature sensor are ready for the deposition of a sensitive film to create the sensing element. For electrochemical gas sensors three electrodes system has been designed. The electrode structures can be delivered either on large area substrates or separated and provided with silver wire leads. The metallic films are deposited either by thin film or thick film technologies.

Integrated electrode system KBI2

The electrode system KBI2 consists of 1 KΩ temperature sensor, heating element and interdigital electrodes. All elements are made of a sputtered platinum film on alumina substrate. The heating element and the temperature sensor are covered with a thin dielectric film.

Gold interdigital electrodes are deposited on alumina substrate. Different sensitive films can be deposited on the top of the electrodes to build a gas or vapour sensor. TESLA Blatna is ready to fabricate tailor-made interdigital electrodes of different layouts and dimensions.

Humidity sensor BI2H

BI2H humidity sensor is a semiconductor sensor for measuring relative humidity. Physical measuring principle is based on the properties of organic semiconductors, which due to moisture changes its impedance. The sensor converts the humidity value on the impedance, which can be electrically evaluated.


Characteristic properties:

  • Measuring range from 20 to 90% RH at temperatures from 0 to 60 °C.
